The police are reporting of a fatal accident at Akim Aboabo on the Accra-Kumasi highway on Monday dawn.

A Nissan pickup is said to have rammed into the rear of a loaded DAF articulated truck.

This has led to a complete closure of the portion of the road between Akim Asafo and Nsutam while efforts are made to ease traffic.

Motorists approaching from Suhum are diverted through Kibi at the Apedwa Junction while those proceeding from Nsutam are diverted at the Kibi Junction, also through Kibi.

Emergency crews involving the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), National Ambulance Service (NAS), and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service are at the scene to help with crash scene management.
