The leadership of the New Patriotic Party has ordered all party flags to fly at half-mast in honour of Harona Esseku for the next week.

Esseku died at age 88 on Wednesday (3 August 2022).

A statement issued by the NPP on Monday(8 August said “The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has received with grief , news of the passing of Harona Esseku, a statesman and founding member of the party, which occured on Wednesday(3 August).”

“As a mark of respect in honour of his memory, the NPP has directed that all party flags at party offices nationwide be flown at half -mast for the next seven days.”

“May the soul of dearly departed father and mentor find solace in God’s bosom,” the statement said.
