Winning GPL title was collective effort, says Hearts of Oak Board Member Frank Nelson

Hearts of Oak board member, Frank Nelson Nwokolo has hailed the collective efforts of the club following their Ghana Premier League title triumph.

The Phobians have ended their 12 years trophy drought under Samuel Boadu.

The Rainbow club were declared champions as winners of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League champions after their 1-1 stalemate with Liberty Professionals over the weekend.

Hearts of Oak sit top of the league log with 61 points with a game to end the season.

And according to Frank Nelson, they ended their trophy drought with a collective effort.

“If the board did not move to get Samue Boadu it (title success) would not have happened. If the supporters did not say Salifu (Ibrahim) must be signed this would not have happened,” he told Kumasi based Fox FM.

“If the fans did not get up and say we need Isaac Mensah, we have Frederick Ansah, we have Barnie and co, this would not have happened. For me, it was a collective responsibility.

“Everybody came on board. The management did their part. So a lot of things came together to make this happen,” he added.
