Ghana international, David Accam netted the only goal on Thursday night to power his Hammarby IF outfit to record a 1-0 win against NK Maribor.

The Swedish club today visited the Ljudski VRT grounds to take on the team from Slovenia in the qualification round to the 2021/2022 Europa Conference League.

Having missed the first leg last week, David Accam today merited a starting role for the away team.

Leading the lines to the delight of his team, the attacker scored after just five minutes into the action when he latched onto a pass from Darijan Bojanic.

In control of the game, Hammarby IF managed time very well as they kept Maribor at bay for the remainder of the game.

Today’s result gives David Accam and his team a 4-1 aggregate victory to advance to the next qualification stage of the 2021/2022 Europa Conference League.

With his top performance today, the Ghana attacker looks set to start for Hammarby IF on Sunday, July 1, 2021, when the team takes on Ostersund in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
