Travelers on the Accra-Kumasi stretch are beginning to attach superstition to two accidents that have occurred at the same spot today.

As Parliament is mourning the death of a dispatch rider of the country’s Speaker of Parliament convoy who was hit by another vehicle from behind at 9am this Friday morning, another accident has occurred at the same spot, Juaso Water Works (Juaso Junction) in the Asante Akim Municipality of the Ashanti Region at 11:30pm.

There was no casualty but five persons have been badly injured.

An eyewitness told ModernGhana News that the accident involved a Hyundai Grace commercial vehicle with registration number AS- 9145-Y and a Nissan pick-up with registration number GT-2975-U.

Both vehicles were from Kumasi to Accra.

The driver of the Nissan pick-up, according to the eyewitness, tried to overtake the Hyundai Grace but unfortunately burst the right-side of the back tyre and in the process hit the Hyundai Grace on the driver side which forcefully landed in a bush.

The Nissan pick-up also somersaulted severally in the middle of the road.

The victims were sent to Juaso government hospital for medical attention.
