Ghana striker, Asamoah Gyan has lauded the Confederations of African Football [Caf] for the recognition after the 2021 Africa Cup of nations [Afcon] draw.
The 34-year-old was part of legends who were officially invited to help conduct the draw in Cameroon.
The draw for the continent most prestigious was on Tuesday night in Yaounde with the Ghana legend coming on stage to help with the draw.
After the draw, the country’s all-time leading goalscorer took to social media to expressed his appreciation for the recognition.
“Thank you CAF_Online for the recognition,” Gyan tweeted after the draw.
“Thank you GHANA and thank you Anthony Baffoe.
“God bless you all.”
Meanwhile, the Black Stars have been drawn in Group C alongside North African giants Morocco, AFCON debutants Comoros and 2017 hosts Gabon.
The final tournament of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Cameroon 2021 will take place from January 9 to February 6, 2022.
Ghana will be hoping to end its 39 year Africa Cup of Nations trophy drought next year.
