Two children have been killed at Gomoa Akoti in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region after a church building collapsed on them.

The children who were with their parents at Grace Chapel International Church died during the Sunday afternoon rains which trapped them in the church building.

About 25 people were in the building who were advised by the pastor, Prophet Peter Osei Owusu to stay back and go home after the rains.

According to reports, the windstorm brought down the weakened church structure with members in the building fleeing for their lives.

But the victims, a 14-year-old and a 3-year-old could not run but got trapped inside the structure.

Five others are in critical condition and have currently been sent to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.

The pastor has since reported the incident to the Gomoa Ojobi District Police command for investigations.
