The newly constructed multi-purpose court complex for the Asutifi South District has been officially opened, at Bronikrom, near Hwidiem, the district capital.

The inauguration ceremony brought together Nananom, officers of the Judicial Service, Security Chiefs from the various security agencies, Imams and ministers of the Church, Assembly members, media practitioners, and a cross-section of the public, which included community leaders, party members and people from nearby communities.

Addressing the people gathered, the Honourable DCE, Mr Dwomoh Mensah Robert, touted government’s achievement in building the court, as well as a residence for the judge. He added that the new court will help in justice delivery, and asked the people of Asutifi South to be law abiding.

The multipurpose court comprises a courtroom, offices for the judge, registrar and other officers of the court, holding rooms, and washrooms. The building is also complete with an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) centre, which would soon be operational.

The court complex was officially commissioned by Nana Osuodumgya Apea-Dwaah Boafo II (Omanhene of Hwidiem Traditional Council) and assisted by the Presiding High Court Judge for the Ahafo, Bono and Bono East regions, His Lordship Justice Gabriel Nene Quao Martey Teye (who stood in for Her Ladyship the Chief Justice of the Republic), with the support of the DCE and Hon. Yaw Owusu-Brempong, the Asutifi South NPP parliamentary candidate.

This will be the third circuit court in the Ahafo region, after Duayaw Nkwanta and Goaso, the regional capital.
