Ghana captain, Andre Ayew, says the playing body is ready for their first game in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and hopes to get off to a good start.

Ghana is in Group G of the qualifying tournament, along with South Africa, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe.

The West African country begin their quest to Qatar with a home game against Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium today, Friday, September 3.

However, the Al Sadd forward is confident of a win over Ethiopia’s Walias, as the Black Stars want to kick off their campaign with a solid score.

“We know the task ahead of us,” the U-20 World Cup winner said on Thursday.

“It’s a very important game and we want to start this World Cup qualifier really well at home.

“It is time to do the job well. Its six games and we want to win this one in front of the fans,” he concluded.

The Black Stars will fly to Johannesburg to play South Africa on Monday, September 6.

CK Akonnor, who is the head coach of the side will be hoping to steer the Black Stars back to the Mundial having failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
