After being granted bails at ¢100,000 each last month, Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and some three associates will reappear before an Accra Circuit Court today, Tuesday, November 9.

They are facing charges of publication of false news after allegedly orchestrating a fake gun attack on the life of the award-winning artiste on Monday, October 18.

It had followed a prophecy by one Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah, popularly known as Jesus Ahuofe, who had said the musician will die under same circumstances as South African Reggae sensation Lucky Dube. He was shot dead in his Rosettenville home on October 18, 2007.

The man of God has since been arrested and granted bail.

But Shatta Wale and his alleged accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, who had been earlier remanded for a week at the Ankaful Maximum Prisons, will reappear on Tuesday, November 9 for a continuation of the substantive matter.

He has since apologized for his action – had willingly turned himself in the following day of the incident – and called for a reformation of the country’s prisons.

He has released a song ‘Jail Man’ to spearhead this new campaign.
