Information gathered indicates that some of the youth who joined the prayers as part of the Eid-ul Adha celebrations were firing gunshots and brandishing weapons as part of the celebrations on Tuesday, July 20.

In a sad turn of events, a stray bullet that found its way into the praying crowd, unfortunately, hit a teenager, Gafaru Kasim.

The 16-year-old who was immediately rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital was pronounced dead on arrival.

Speaking in an interview, Alhaji Alidu Seidu who is Mampong Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) said he is baffled someone took a gun to the celebration of the festival of sacrifice.
