Yesterday, I launched the University of Ghana Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme (UGIEP) at the University’s campus in Accra.

The UGIEP is a non academic programme, under the auspices of the Vice Chancellor’s Office, which seeks to foster entrepreneurship and innovation, by developing knowledge and capabilities, necessary to create and grow products and services that will add social and economic value to society.

Creating more opportunities for the country’s growing youth population remains a priority for government and it is my expectation that the UGIEP will collaborate with government agencies such as the National Youth Authority, Youth Employment Agency, Ghana Enterprises Agency, the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme and others, to help create sustainable job opportunities.
