Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu Bio has said that no document on the Achimota Forest has been destroyed in the flood that occurred at the head office of the Lands Commission in Accra over the weekend.

He told journalists in interview on Monday May 23 that every document on the forest reserve is intact.

He further revealed that there are soft copy versions of all the documents available for reprint in the event of destruction.

“Nothing here can be linked to Achimota or whatever forest but then all files and documents are intact , they have been saved . Every document where too, there is a soft copy of it.

“Should anything of that happen, we can assure everyone that we can reprint replacement documents so that they can be used,” he said.

Several documents and other items at the head office of the Commission were destroyed after the basement of the new building was heavily submerged in water after Saturday night’s downpour.

The documents include indentures, land maps, and land papers.
