A group of alumni have renovated the ICT Center of the Akropong Demonstration JSS and donated eight desk top computers/monitors, computers chairs and tables and a printer.

The Group was spearheaded by Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo, a Gynecologist in New York.

The others are Professor Mark Awuku, Dr. Cynthia Boakye, Dr. Albert Adu, Nana Korantema Brookes, Nana Kwaku Ohene-Adu, Mr. Kofi Adu Larbi, Mr Jesse Kwame Adu, and Ms Camilla Ansaa Aniapam Boafo.

All are alumni of the then Akropong Demonstration Middle School except Camilla. The project is being supervised by Mr. Isaac Offei who was a previous teacher of the School.

The spirit behind the project was driven by a desire to improve the ICT in the school and ensure that the kids have the necessary exposure and knowledge to battle the challenges in the new world order of ICT. The Group recognized the fact that alumni drives the success of most schools and felt the need to do the same and encourage others to help in other ways.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headmistress Mrs Ruth Tetteh said she was impressed by the efforts of the group.

She noted that the ICT Center will be put to use to achieve the required objective. She promised to establish a culture of maintenance to prolong the life of the Centre.

Mrs Sarah Fosu, the ICT Supervisor promised to ensure the Center is properly kept for the betterment of all.

The School Prefect of the school said her dreams have been fulfilled and that the student excitement was enough evidence.
