Alhaji Mashud Muhammed has been adjudged the 2021 Best National Farmer at the 37th National Farmers Day Awards on Friday December 3.

The farmer who is from the Mion District of the Northern Region, was presented with GH¢600,000 and a two-bedroom apartment.

The event took place in Cape Coast in the Central Region.

During the event, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo celebrated all farmers and assured them that his administration would create the enabling environment and put in place the necessary policies and programme for the rapid growth of the agriculture sector.

Mr Akufo-Addo noted that “there is wealth in agriculture.”

He added “This year’s event has taken on added significance, because of the efforts of our farmers and fisherfolks in ensuring that there were no shortages of food at the height of of the Covid 19 pandemic.”
