Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Constituency in the Western Region has fixed all the faulty streetlights in the area.

The gesture is to improve the security situation in the Constituency and also beautify the area towards the celebration of this year’s Christmas festivities.

Speaking to the media, the lawmaker revealed that the gesture was in response to the request made by the Chief of Esiama in October 2021 when he visited the community to take notice of some of the problems confronting the community.

He intimated that he was forced to hasten and fast track the gesture in the wake of the exigency of the situation in communities.

According to him, it is very necessary to beef up security in the constituency to protect lives and properties.

The MP said since January not even a single MP’s Common Fund Package had been paid but he would not sit aloof for his constituents to sleep in darkness.

“Though I have not received any common fund for this year yet I realized that my Constituency was in darkness and that is why I have tried my best to fix all the faulty streetlights in the constituency to provide security for my people and also beautify the constituency,” he said.

He added that “In fact Ellembelle Constituency is now beautiful and this year’s Christmas will be well celebrated.”

He pledges his total commitment to continue to replace any faulty streetlight in the Constituency.

Some residents in the Constituency who spoke to this journalist said the MP deserves commendation.

“In fact, we don’t know what to say to Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, he has done very well and we pray to God to help him because it was supposed to be done by the Ellembelle District Assembly. Darkness is not a good thing and we can celebrate Christmas well,” they said.

The project which lasted for a week was executed by the “Peace and Power” Electrical Company.
