Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko were defeated in a friendly once again under new head coach Mariano Barreto.

The Porcupine Warriors were beaten 1:2 by lower tier side Benab FC at the Adako Jachie Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

The encounter was to prepare Kotoko ahead of Ghana Premier League clash against Medeama Sporting Club at the Accra Sports Stadium this weekend.

Benab FC broke the deadlock in the sixth minute before Martin Antwi could restore parity for the Porcupines after the first half break.

As if the game was about to end in a stalemate, Benab FC scored the second goal in the dying embers of the game to win 1:2.

The porcupines lies first on the Ghana Premier. League table with 35 points and looks forward to clinching the ultimate this year.
