Asante Kotoko are on the verge of appointing Prosper Narteh-Ogum as the head coach of the club ahead of the 2021/22 football season.

After a disappointing season, the Porcupine Warriors are set to part ways with the head coach of the side, Mariano Barreto.

The Portuguese side was named prior to the second half of the season, replacing Maxwell Konadu on a year and a half deal.

Kotoko finished second in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, missing out on a spot in Africa after losing the MTN FA Cup under the guidance of the former Black Stars coach.

With the team hoping to get off to a great start next season, Narteh Ogum, who guided WAFA to a record third-place finish last season, is set to be named as the new coach.

Despite early speculations indicating he was anticipated to finalize his agreement as early as this week, Kotoko has yet to make a formal statement about the appointment of Prosper Narteh-Ogum.
