The Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Ernest Addison has emphasized that his outfit is determined to develop a vibrant financial sector that will be capable of harnessing financial resources available for growth and development.

This is contained in a speech delivered at a ceremony on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Mamfe Akuapem in the Eastern Region on the occasion of the 40th anniversary celebration of Akuapem Rural Bank Limited.

At the ceremony, Dr. Ernest Addison applauded the promoters, past management teams, and the current directors of the bank for the remarkable roles they have played for the attainment of the milestone.

Reflecting on the successes chalked and the various interventions by BoG, he said the central bank remains committed to bringing on board more initiatives.

He said at the BoG, they are “developing a vibrant financial sector that is capable of harnessing financial resources available for growth and development requires the commitment of all key stakeholders.”

Dr. Ernest Addison added, “The Bank will continue to pursue policies and programmes aimed at improving the operational environment to build customer confidence and ensure the stability and soundness of the financial sector.”

The Governor in his concluding remarks urged the Management of Akuapem Rural Bank to keep the bank stable and strong to meet the financial needs of the Akuapem community.
