22-year-old Nii Teye has been arrested by the Awutu Jei Krodua police command for allegedly stealing a bag of rice and other provisions at Jei Krodua in the Awutu Senya West of the Central region.

An eyewitness says the victim is a widow whose provisions have been stolen before, with this incident being the second time.

“…They saw him carrying the stuff away but when the police went to his house, the mother said she was going to curse the officers for accusing his son. They forcibly entered the room and retrieved the stuff from his mother’s things. Nobody knows whether the mother kept them there or the boy did.

“The mistake she did was not handing them over to the police.This is not the first time it has happened (stealing the woman’s provisions). She is a widow taking care of her children,” she narrated.

The eyewitness added that, the suspect “is a weed smoker. Whenever be smokes weed he moves around with knife and steal people. Maybe you people should find him some job for us.”

The suspect, Nii Teye, is currently at the Jei Krodua police station.

According to the police, the suspect will be arraigned before court on Monday, November 28, 2022.
