Former Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Afrifa Yamoah Ponko has claimed ‘all politicians are thieves’, including himself.
According to the outspoken firebrand of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, it will be a big mistake for anyone to assume that some politicians are honest incorruptible.
Yamoah Ponkoh was speaking to host of Abusua FM’S Abusua Nkommo morning show program, Kwame Adinkrah while addressing issues of honest political leadership.
The former Municipal Chief says, ‘Kwame, Ghanaians should stop thinking about honest and incorruptible political leadership…it doesn’t exist in Ghana.’
‘Every Ghanaian politician is a potential thief, put the Ghanaian in a position of trust or political leadership and the next thing he or she will start thinking of is how to steal to enrich themselves,’ he revealed.
Yamoah Ponkoh adds, ‘Kwame, even me, if you put me in a political leadership position today, I will steal and so Ghanaians should manage their expectations in terms of looking for honest political leadership…we politicians are simply corrupt and cannot be trusted.’
