North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration to expedite steps to address the current challenges with passport acquisition.

He said many citizens are reaching out to him complaining about unusually long waiting periods and unavailability of 48-page booklets.

In April this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration temporarily halted issuance of 48-page passport.

The Ministry announced that this was due to the surge in demand for the 48-page passport and the challenges with the supply chain.
