Imoro made a name for himself at Great Olympics and Real Tamale United during his professional career.

He was also an established member of the Black Stars squad during 1980s at the heart of midfield.

However, his life turned around for the worst due to hard drugs. Some teammates came to his aid after a report by 3Sports Yaw Ofosu Larbi on how he became a pauper.

The midfielder was later sent to a rehabilitation centre to help him reform. He was a close friend to Ghana legend Abedi Pele during their playing days. He earned the monicker, Tigana, the name of a former French footballer for his toughness on the ball.
