The Kukuom Traditional Council led by Osahene Kwaku Atekyi II has honoured Hon. Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah the Founder of AMEND Foundation with an ‘Outstanding Development Personality Award 2019’ in recognition of his extra ordinary and exemplary contributions towards the implementation of community based development projects, his immense contributions towards the development of pragmatic health policies and programs across Asunafo South District.

As part of the celebration of the Second Akwasidea, the traditional council also recognised FairTrade , Kukuom Cocoa Farmers Co-Operative Society for its notable act of philanthropy and impact on society. This was in acknowledgement of their sole financial support towards the construction of a new maternity ward at the newly updraded Kukuom District Hospital.

Mr. Dominic, The Kukuom Free Trade Chairman received the Award on behalf of the Association.

The award seeks to celebrate and encourage the efforts of development partners who have endevouured to go the extra mile in their pursuit of developmental and humanitarian causes in Ghana.

The Amoa – Mensah Education Nurturing and Development (AMEND) Foundation has over the last 4 years played an instrumental role in the fields of health ( Free health Clinic and medication for 5000 people), Education(Scholarships and training schemes), road safety, infrastructure skills training and leadership mentoring.

Hon Ing Kobby Amoa -Mensah thanked Nananom for bestowing such a great honour on him and thanked the community for also being good partners. He concluded by thanking Dr Ayisi Boateng of KNUST Hospital, Dr Jacqui Barnes of Graphic Clinic, Dr Andrea Appau of Korle Bu, Dr Afua Amoa-Mensah of Ridge Hospital, Dr Harris Hammond and all AMEND team members across Ghana for their great contributions towards attaining this accolade.
