On July 23, 2021, Ghana’s newly appointed consul general to the U.S, H.E. Atta Boafo Kingsley began his familiarization tour with the Ghanaian community in the “Tristate.”

He paid a visit to Yankasa Association, an organization, whose mission is to promote and articulate the interest of Ghanaians in the New York metropolis.

The meeting, which was organized at the association’s premises in the Bronx, NY, was graced by elders, chiefs and imams, who waited after their Friday prayers to welcome the diplomat, who previously served as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Republic of Congo.

In his address to the group, H.E Atta Boafo Kingsley promised to advance the friendship his predecessor, Prof. Emeritus Samuel K. Amoako built with the Ghanaian community to foster unity and progress.

The Consul General, who is also a former MP for Fomena Constituency in the Ashanti Region promised to outdoor a number of initiatives, including the compilation of data on children born to Ghanaian nationals, as their expertise and exposure could be tapped to help Ghana’s progress.

He also extended President Nana Akufo-Addo’s recognition and appreciation to Yankasa Association and other Ghanaian civic organizations in the diaspora for the wonderful work they do by bringing the Ghanaian community abroad together.

H.E. Atta Boafo Kingsley ended his speech by asking for support and prayers from the group to enable him discharge his duties effectively.

Next on the consul General’s tour is Hartford, CT, on Sunday, August 1, 2021.
