Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Yaw Buaben Asamoa has said the government is working hard to improve on education infartsr8re in order to expand access.

To that end, he revealed that the government has constructed over One Thousand educational infrastructure from the basic to tertiary levels. Out of this, he said, 513 of them have been fully completed and handed over.

S[peaking on the New Day show o TV3 with Johnnie Hughes on Wednesday February 2, he said the government cannot provide all the needed infsruaryre overnight.

However, efforts have been made to ensure that all of them are eventually provided.

He said “As far as I am aware, as we speak government has invested in excess of over 1000 structures across from basic level to tertiary level.

“As we speak over 538 have been given out fully. so the tertiary level will have its share of challenges because we cant deliver all the infrastructure overnight but we are getting there , we are working very hard towards it. When you do hostels and others you also open the opportunity for private sector to participate.

“All the public universities have hotels collections from the private sector , if you go to Legon, KNUST, UCC you will see all that.

“The argument is should we wait to deliver infrastructure to the maximum before we enable access.”
