Asante Kotoko remained unbeaten in the Ghana Premier League as they drew 0-0 with Karela United in Ayinase despite having a man sent off in the second half.
Kotoko played with 10 men from the 63rd minute when midfielder Richard Boadu picked up a deserved red card but the Porcupine Warriors managed to repel constant waves of attacks from Karela.
Razak Abalora denied Karela the winner late on with a great save.
Sunday’s result keeps Kotoko on top of the table, three points more than second-placed King Faisal after the latter also drew goalless but at home against Medeama.
Bechem United moved to third and four points adrift top spot after an impressive comeback victory against Dreams FC who arrived in Bechem unbeaten since matchday one.
The Hunters fell behind after five minutes as Ali Huzaf gave Dreams the lead. But before the halftime break, Emmanuel Avornyo levelled. Augustine Okrah and Yaw Dasi Obuoba scored the second and third goals respectively to secure a 3-1 win.

On Saturday, WAFA needed a late penalty to beat Great Olympics and record their first win. Justus Torsutsey scored the penalty deep into stoppage time to earn a 1-0 victory and end the capital-based club’s unbeaten run.
Olympics coach Annor Walker was livid after the match and blamed his side’s defeat on referee Bashiru Dauda.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to say because if you look at what has happened here, I don’t see and I don’t know why we should be treated this way by the referees,” Walker told reporters.
