Hearts of Oak dropped points for the second weekend running after drawing goalless with Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Sulley Muntari was handed his first start after a good showing in the Mantse derby against Great Olympics last weekend but the former AC Milan and Inter star could not inspire the Phobians to a win.

The draw means Hearts are winless in two games ahead of next Sunday’s Super Clash against Asante Kotoko in Accra.

Ahead of the game, the reigning champions are 12 points behind Kotoko who occupy the top spot in the league.

Meanwhile, their city rivals Great Olympics ended the first round on a winning note. They beat bottom-of-the-table Elmina Sharks in Accra.

Daniel Adjetey scored the only goal in the 91st minute.

In Dormaa, Bright Adjei scored a hat-trick in four minutes as Aduana Stars recorded a resounding 3-0 win against Eleven Wonders.

WAFA end the first round in the relegation zone after they were beaten at home by Karela United. Kelvin Andoh scored the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute.

AshantiGold played out a 2-2 draw with Bibiani Gold Stars while the clash between Medeama and Dreams FC was rained off. The match will be played on Monday at 10:00 am.
