Hearts of Oak did not enjoy their return to the Accra Sports Stadium as they dropped points against Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The stadium was closed for a month for renovation works, according to National Sports Authority, however, it hosted music concerts during the Christmas holidays.

Hearts had to play their last two home games in Cape Coast. They won both including a 2-0 win against Berekum Chelsea to end 2021 on a high.

But, on Sunday, they were held to a goalless draw by a spirited Bechem who claimed a deserved point to stay in the top four.

Hearts, on the other hand, are nine points adrift of the top spot. They, however, have two outstanding games.

Elsewhere, King Faisal continued their impressive home form with a 2-1 win over Bibiani Gold Stars in Kumasi.

They achieved victory at the Baba Yara Stadium thanks to first-half goals from Ibrahim Zubairu and Osman Ibrahim.

The new boys tried to stage a comeback as they pulled one back before halftime, but Faisal managed to hold on for their fifth home win. They have picked up more points (16) at home so far this season than any side.

King Faisal despite being level on points with Kotoko are top because they beat Porcupine Warriors early last month.

WAFA started the new year with a 2-0 win against struggling Elmina Sharks in Sogakope, Real Tamale United drew 2-2 with Dreams FC in an entertaining clash in the Northern Region, and Karela United secured a 4-2 win over Eleven Wonders.
