The overlord of Nnseinnua Traditional area Nana Agyemang Duah III and his sub chiefs gathered on the 31st of October 2021 in Nnseinnua during Adei Kese to honour Hon. Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah.

The palace was full of estatic residents of the traditional area who expressed sincere delight on the occasion.

Our research shows that, the recipient of the Award of Honour was not aware he would be awarded on the day. ‘ I was invited to join Nananom to celebrate Adeikesee and I turned up to partake in the traditional celebration, only to realize that, I was going to be honoured on the day’ according to Hon. Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah. The palace was filled with all the sub chiefs including chiefs and elders of Nnseinnua, Nakete, Kyenkyensibourso, Anwiaso, Sakyikrom, Weijakrom.

A plaque detailing the appreciation of Hon. Kobby Amoa-Mensah’s contributions for the area were highlighted.

Hon Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah has through the AMEND Foundation provided free healthcare clinics and health screening for over 2000 residents in the traditional council. He has also been instrumental in the provision of infrastructure development in the respective communities within the traditional council.

The Overlord of Nnseinnua Nana Agyemang Duah praised Hon. Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah for his exemplary works in his traditional council. He stated that, the reason for honor Kobby Amoa-Mensah was to show that Nananom appreciate his good works and that he should not rest or give up. More often than not our society does not show appreciation for good works carried out by individuals, this must change to encourage them to do more , he said.

‘God’s time is the best do not rest because you are destined to be our MP at the appointment time. The downfall of a man is not the end of his life’ we’re words offered by the overlord of Nnseinnua.

The NPP were attacked in Weijakrom. The party vehicle ( brand new pick up) was burnt to ashes and it’s members suffered gunshot wounds from the NDC. In the interest of peace, Hon. Ing Kobby Amoa-Mensah called for restraint and preacher against retaliation to curb any violence, characteristic of Asunafo South during political exercises. This strong position at the time has been deemed to be a bold step by a politician who has the people at heart according to the Twafohene of Nnseinnua Nana Kyei Sampson.

Hon Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah was the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Asunafo South in 2020. He put up a very spirited performance as a first time candidate pulling a historic record vote never attained by any previous NPP candidate.

In 2016, approximatley 55,000 persons were enrolled in the voters register. In 2020 however, the number dwindled to 50,000 registered voters. This meant a 10% reduction in voters registered. The NPP Parliamentary Candidate in 2016 attained 18 091 votes with a loss margin of approximately 3000. Expected forecasts predicted that if historical voting trends were to pertain the Best results to be attained by the NPP candidate was 16 200. To the surprise of many, Hon. Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah pulled 20, 927 votes. A massive appreciation of 5000 votes and reduced lose margins from 3000 to 1400.

Akua Antwiwaaa said ‘This man loves us and cares out us and he is always with us, unlike other who only come around when elections are pending’.

After the presentation ceremony, HE joined Nananom to visit the proposed site for a new police station. Ideas were exchanged and pleasantries followed to gracefully end the day.
