The Minister Designate for Communication and Digitization during her vetting on the 15th of February 2021 showed her prowess as an effective Minister who has been on top of her job and deserving to continue with her mandate.

Her dexterity to move from one subject area to another showed how competent she is for her position.

Although bombarded with a plethora of questions, her composure and well thought through answers proved to satisfy most members of the vetting committee if not all.

Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful also provided significant information on the mandate of her Ministry.

She distinguished that
her Ministry was responsible for the infrastructure of the communication industry and not responsible for the regulation of content churned by broadcasters.

She informed the vetting committee that, that was within the remit of the Ministry of Information and National Communication Authority.

The main areas of questioning related to Radio Station closures, Rural Telephony, Internet connectivity, Kelvin GVG amongst others.

On another note, when queried about the incident that transpired between herself and Hon. Collins Dauda, MP(Asutifi South), she indicated that she had apologised to him and buttressed her point by further offering an unconditional apology to Hon. Collins Dauda once more.

She also intimated that, she had to physically restrain Hon Akando to consolidate her seat and furthermore her ‘shaking’ disturbed the said MP who wanted to take her seat.

After nearly six hours of answering to in-depth questions, she thanked the committee and exchanged pleasantries with the members and thereafter vacated her seat.

Surely Hon Ursula Owusu-Ekuful is a role model not only to women in Ghana and Africa but to many men too.
