Ing. Kobby Amoa-Mensah honoured at the 60th Anniversary Launch of Brong and Ahafo Students Union – UG Chapter

On the 22nd of January 2023, I was invited as a guest speaker amongst other prominent People such as Hon Twum Barima MP Dormaa East, Hon Freda Prempeh MP Tano North etc by the University of Ghana Chapter of Brong Ahafo Students Union, BASU

The occasion was in celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Union. Many speeches were given by the various dignitaries. The gardens of the Guest centre were fully occupied by eager students who made the occassion a success.

In my speech, I stressed on the importance of education and it’s capacity to empower individuals to transform families, communities, regions and nations.

I expressed the need for tertiary students to go back to their respective communities to volunteer to help improve education standards.

I also expressed the genuine desire to financially support brilliant but financially constrained students.It is our call to duty.

I unveiled a scholarship scheme of value 5000 GhS specifically accessible by Asunafo South Students. Under the auspicies AMEMD Foundation, The Afia Konadu Scholarship Scheme is to aid underprivileged but intelligent students from Asunafo South especially women who have financial challenges whilst in school. Through AMEND Foundation’s Scholarship scheme we can make lives a bit better.

I was given a citation for contributions to education and development in the Ahafo Enclave for which I am very proud off. I thank the student community of BASU for this generous gesture.

We will strive to work together.
