At Ofaakor, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East district of the Central Region, four persons, including a woman, have been brutalised by land guards, injuring three of them.

One of the victims, Mildred Adjei, who spoke to Onua News’s Nana Yaw Asare said the land guards have been tormenting their lives for some months now, a situation she describes as disturbing.

This, she alleges, is as a result of the chief’s intention to oust her from the place, making him instigate their beating by the land guards.

She appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to come to their aid amid the assault by these land guards.

“Even if you try digging a small hole in front of your house, they come and attack you. They beat us with guns, cutlasses and stones. We are really suffering at Ofaakor Pius Down. The chief says he doesn’t want my money so he wants to eject me. We plead with our father (IGP) to come to aid becasue we are suffering here,” one of the victims, Mildred Adjei, alleged.

Kofi Acheampong, another victim who sustained injuries in the process, pleaded with the police to intervene to instill peace in the area.

“They beat us with their cutlasses. One was even stained with blood. I have bruises all over my body including my left eye. I’ll plead with IGP to speak to the police here to know they are here to protect lives and property so they could act quickly whenever there is an issue,” he added.
