Police in the Ashanti Region have confirmed the murder of a 21-year-old Level 200 student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The body of the deceased was discovered at Sewuah New Site around 5:20pm Friday evening.

“Twenty-five-year-old Emmanuel Boateng, a tailor apprentice has been arrested and assisting police investigation,” ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO told William Evans-Nkum.

It was a gloomy atmosphere at the deceased’s family house on Sunday afternoon.

“My son was killed because of his phone,” a sobing father Yaw Adugyamfi told Media General‘s William Evans-Nkum.

The deceased’s name has been given as Kwaku Adugyamfi and he was reading Biological Science at the university.
