Isaac Oppong scored a brilliant goal as Asante Kotoko beat Bibiani Gold Stars 1-0 to make it three wins from three at the start of this Ghana Premier League season.

Oppong, twice impressing as a substitute, was handed his first start and he emerged as the match winner at the Duns Park on Friday.

Ten minutes into the second half, Oppong picked up the ball outside the box and he curled it straight into the net. He has now been involved in five goals – scoring two and assisting three.

Kotoko held on to maintain their 100 percent start to the campaign and extend their lead at the top to three points.

Gold Stars would be disappointed in themselves for losing for the first time this season because they played really well and created a number of decent opportunities which they should have scored.

Their striker Prince Owusu had the best of the lot deep into stoppage time but missed. He shot straight at the goalkeeper from close range.
