Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah has cautioned new lawyers to not see their venture as one characterized by monetary gains.

Speaking at the enrollment of new lawyers at a mini call at the Law Complex in Accra on Friday June 24, he intimated that the new entrants be committed to excellence and an unbending zeal for hard work.

“Your success at the bar cannot be perceived in purely monetary and material terms only and I say this with great emphasis because the legal profession is not a gold mine,” he told the 95 new members of the Ghana Bar.

Mr Anin Yeboah admonished them to take court assigned briefs at the bar to help the needy, underprivileged and voiceless in society, adding that if they “hasten slowly and learn, bearing in mind that those who work well while abiding by the ethics of the profession reap rewards of a good harvest.”
