New Edubiase on Friday unveiled six new players including comic actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win.

The Ghanaian second-tier club have surprisingly handed Lil Win a two-year contract ahead of the new season.

Lil Win, 33, has never been involved in football and is known fully as a comedian and actor. He occasionally releases songs.

But the club have taken a chance on him. Lil Win impressed on trials, according to New Eduibase owner Abdul Salam Yakubu.

According to reports, Lil Win will not play but serve as an ambassador for the former Ghana Premier League club.

“It’s time to play football. I have signed two seasons for New Edubiase United”, Lil Win is quoted by Ghanasoccernet.com to have told Happy FM.

“I currently play in the Number 7 position or any position in the midfield. The coach is the one who requested me. The CEO wants me as the ambassador and the Coach also wants me to play.

“I can play the first 45 minutes and with time I can play the full 90 minutes. As long as I play for New Edubiase United no team will beat us.”

New Edubiase are aiming to return to the Ghanaian top flight in the upcoming season.

In 2012, they shocked everyone by winning the MTN FA Cup and competed in the CAF Confederation Cup. It remains their greatest achievement to date.
