Local Entrepreneur Richard Asiamah YeboahTackles Waste Management Crisis in Ahafo Region
In a remarkable display of entrepreneurial spirit, Richard Asiamah Yeboah, a 26-year-old Senior High School graduate, has taken on the challenge of addressing the growing waste management crisis in the Ahafo Region. Inspired by the rampant waste accumulation in his community, Yeboah has established a thriving waste management business, ELITE WASTE MANAGEMENT, to provide cleaning services and waste collection to the region.
Yeboah, who hails from Ahafo Goaso, completed his secondary education at Kumasi Academy, where he studied Agricultural Science. Rather than taking the traditional employment route of seeking employment,he recognized the pressing need for effective waste management in his community and decided to the bull by the horn.
ELITE WASTE MANAGEMENT was founded on August 1st, 2019, with the aim of providing comprehensive waste management solutions to the residents and institutions of Ahafo Goaso. The company initially started with just 15 waste collection bins but has since grown to a fleet of 150 bins and a team of 10 dedicated workers, three of whom are responsible for waste collection and seven providing cleaning services.
“I was inspired to start this business because I saw the growing problem of waste in our community,” said Yeboah In an interview with Ahafonews
The Prolific entrepreneur stated that “As a high school graduate, I wanted to find a practical solution that would not only benefit the community but also provide employment opportunities for those who could not further their education.”
Yeboah’s innovative approach has earned him the trust of his customers and workers, who appreciate his commitment to regular and efficient waste collection, as well as his dedication to finding creative solutions to the challenges faced by the business.
Despite the competition in the region, ELITE WASTE MANAGEMENT has established a solid reputation for its reliable service and customer-centric approach. Yeboah’s team of workers, who earn competitive market rate salaries, have become integral to the company’s success.
However, Yeboah’s entrepreneurial journey has not been without its challenges. As a self-funded business, ELITE WASTE MANAGEMENT has had to navigate the difficulties of maintaining its operations, particularly when the company’s sole tricycle requires repairs or maintenance.
Undeterred, Yeboah remains committed to his mission and is encouraging the youth of Ahafo Goaso to explore hands-on entrepreneurial opportunities, rather than solely relying on academic certificates for employment.
“I want to inspire the young people in our community to see the potential in finding practical solutions to the problems around them,” said Yeboah. “There are so many opportunities for entrepreneurship, and I hope my story will motivate others to take the leap and create their own success stories.”
If you are inspired and you want to invest in Yeboah’s business you are welcome as he is looking for partners to expand his business services. He can be contacted on 0256760092 or email the CEO, Richard Asiamah Yeboah, at richardasiamahyeboah554@gmail.com.
