The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak has thrown more light on why the National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah and Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery should appear before Parliament.

Some Minority Members of Parliament on Friday requested the leadership of the House to summon the two ministers before the House to answer questions on the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.

It would be recalled that the identities of the masked men who unleashed violence on the electorates during the by-election were not known, until the Minister of State in Charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong disclosed that the personnel were drawn from his outfit.

Ras Mubarak, speaking in an interview on Friday’s edition of Citi Eyewitness News, said “we want them to appear before the house to answer questions over lapses that occurred at the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election . . . we saw vehicles from the Ghana Police Service . . . men were deployed and the National Security service say they were their men . . . under what circumstance were they deployed. The people are demanding answers from these ministers . . . we want them to appear before the house to answer critical questions that have been raised by Ghanaians.”

According to him, “as far as security is concerned this government has woefully failed . . . we are having these violations of people’s liberty; assaulting innocent people and members of parliament; it is unacceptable.”
