Legendary midfielder Sulley Muntari made his debut for Hearts of Oak in their 1-0 defeat against city rivals Great Olympics at the Accra Sports on Sunday.

Muntari, who agreed a one-year deal with the Ghanaian champions early this week, was introduced in the second half with Hearts trailing by a lone goal and he could not rescue them as the Phobians suffered a third defeat in five games.

Forward Yussif Razak was the hero as his 32nd minute strike turned out to be the winner in the first Mantse derby of the season with Olympics now unbeaten against Hearts in three games.

The result means Samuel Boadu has lost his first home league game as Hearts coach and Olympics have ended the Phobian’s 31-game unbeaten run at the Accra Sports stadium in all competitions.

Hearts have dropped to fourth while Olympics are back in fifth position on the table.

Also, on Sunday, Stephen Owusu’s first-half penalty earned a 1-0 win for Bibiani Gold Stars against Aduana Stars.

Berekum Chelsea beat Dreams in Dawu, Eleven Wonders drew goalless with WAFA, and Karela United were held 1-1 at home by Legon Cities.

Leaders Asante Kotoko will play on Monday against Elmina Sharks.
