The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region has temporarily put on hold the processes to allow for the constituency election in Shama.

Some aggrieved members of the party have sued some members on the Shama election committee for acting contrary to the constitution of the party.

The party is therefore waiting on the outcome of the court case before it proceeds with the constituency election in Shama.

Even though some members of the party in the Kwesimintsim and the Takoradi constituencies are also in court over the polling station elections, the party says it will still go ahead with their constituency elections.
