The Tamale High Court II presided over by His Lordship Justice Eric Ankoma has sentenced Zeinab Mohammed Amin, a nurse at the Red Zone Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital to six years imprisonment with hard labour.

Madam Zeinab in January this year, is reported to have poured hot water on her husband after the husband allegedly refused to allow her drive his car.

In her defense, Zeinab said she acted in self-defense.

However, the judge could not agree with her explanation that her action was in self-defense.

Zeinab was arrested in January and arraigned before the Tamale High Court. The mother of two was charged with causing harm.

Meanwhile, the husband is still receiving treatment at the Burns Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
