The Ghana Police Service has announced that some roads in the capital, Accra will be temporarily blocked on Friday, March 25, 2022, for the Extraordinary Session of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

In a press release issued on Thursday, the Police disclosed that roads such as the Liberation Road from the Airport traffic light through Independence Avenue through Ako Adjei will be affected.

The road from Jubilee Lounge (KIA) to Liberation Road at Opeibea as well as the road from Kempiski Hotel to National Theatre on Independence Avenue through Ako Adjei will also be blocked temporarily.

Meanwhile, there will be diversions created for the free flow of traffic to make up for the inconvenience that would be created.

Amongst the arrangements made, the Police say motorists plying the Independence Avenue will be diverted onto the Liberation Road at the National Theatre to link up Ring Road towards Osu and also link up with Dr. Hilla Liman High Street, Kanda towards Madina.
