My attention has been drawn to a publication on your website MyNewsGh.com under the caption: Freda Prempeh ranked the worst performing
MP in the Ahafo Region.

The body of your story was, however, a report on the outcome of a purported nationwide survey conducted to assess the performance of all the 275 Members of Parliaments (MPs) of Ghana’s Eighth Parliament.

I find your publication very mischievous and misleading since the report makes no mention of the objectives of the study, the methodology used, and, more importantly, the identity and address of the organization that conducted the study therefore I challenge and dare whoever did this to come clear with his methodology and respondents and demand an apology. This is not, and can never be a true reflection of my performance as Member of Parliament.

The publication by your website is part of a disinformation strategy being used by my political opponents and detractors in the Tano North constituency, ostensibly to dent my hard won reputation, hard work and sterling performance as an MP and a Minister of State at the Office of the President.

For the purpose of setting the records right, I request your website publish the following development projects initiated by me in the constituency and give the same prominence in the media space.

Below are the highlights of some of the development projects I have undertaken in the Tano North constituency.

Construction.

1. 115 mechanised boreholes

2. Nine CHPS compounds

3. 12 schools

4. Nine durbar grounds

5. Seven toilets

6. Two markets

7. Two paved lorry stations with sheds

8. 80 percent of total roads under construction

9. One Astro-turf pitch

10. 500 streetlight installed

11. 90 percent of deprived communities connected to the national electricity grid

12. 100 bed capacity hostels under construction

In conclusion, it will interest you to know that I am a very active member of Parliament. I lobby for projects for my constituency. I am always present in the Chamber, attends committee meetings, and pay regular visits to my constituency to interact with my constituents.

These can be verified from the Parliamentary records at Parliament.

Finally, these amateurish political games would not help our great party, the NPP. Rather, it stands to lose from any collateral damage this publication may cause. A report on the outcome of a purported nationwide survey conducted to assess the performance of all the 275 Members of Parliaments (MPs) of Ghana’s Eighth Parliament.
