The management of Hearts of Oak have denied reports suggesting that former team manager Sylvester Nii Sabahn Quaye has rejoined the club.

It can be recalled that the midway through the 2020/2021 Ghanaian football season, the experienced team manager took time off and was not seen with the Phobians as the side went on to win the double.

With the team currently preparing for the CAF Champions League game against CI Kamsar, Nii Sabahn Quaye on Wednesday paid the team a visit at their training grounds.

Subsequently, several reports claimed that he has rejoined Hearts of Oak to take up the team manager role ahead of the 2021/2022 football season.

Reacting to the reports in a statement, the management of the capital-based club says the story is untrue and misleading.

“The Hearts of Oak management will want to put on record that the club’s former team manager, Sylvester Nii Sabahn Quaye has not returned to the club in any capacity as speculated on some media platforms,” the statement reads.

It adds, “Sabahn, a former Black Stars team manager is currently attached to another Ghana Premier League club. The story about his return is highly speculative and misleading. We will entreat all media houses to always confirm stories about our club with club officials before going public.”
