Takoradi woman behind fake kidnaping pleads guilty

Joana Krah, the woman arrested recently in Takoradi in the Western Region for allegedly faking her kidnapping has pleaded guilty to all the charges against her.

The 29-year-old is expected to be sentenced on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

She pleaded guilty after appearing before the Takoradi Habour Circuit Court A, presided over by his honour Michael Kwodjoe Ampoadu on Monday, October 25, 2021.

A statement issued by the police on Monday, October 25 said

“When Joana became aware that her adopted father had reported to the Police and an extensive search had commenced to find her, she showed up at the Takoradi Central Police Station, Saturday, October 23, to confess of only joking with her adopted father shat she was kidnapped,” the police said in their statement.

The public has, consequently, been advised to desist from the act of faking kidnapping for monetary gains.

The police described the act as criminal.

“Such perpetrators will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the state,” the police warned.
