A moving train has killed a 20-year old student, Stephen Ackon, at Nkotompo, a suburb of Sekondi in the Western Region.

The accident reportedly happened on Tuesday October 26 at around 7am when Stephen, a student of the Takoradi Technical Institute was on his way to school.

The Assembly man for Nkotompo, Anthony Ephraim told Connect fm that the deceased, a mechanical engineering student, was a resident of Nkotompo.

Meanwhile the Sekondi Takoradi metro National Disaster Management Organization director, James Obeng says their investigations reveal the deceased was partially deaf and may not have heard the sound of the approaching train resulting in the accident.

The remains have been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital pending police investigation.
