You always have to aim for trphies when you are playing for Al Sadd – Andre Ayew

Andre Ayew has admitted there is a lot of demand when a player decides to play for Al Sadd.

Ayew joined the Qatari club earlier this summer following his decision not to continue at English side Swansea City after the expiration of his contract.

The Ghana international has been in the news for the move he has made but has brushed aside the criticism from football fanatics, claiming that there is a call to be competitive when you play for Al Sadd.

“When you play for Al-Sadd, you know you have to win everything,” the 31-year-old said in an interview when questioned about his ambition for joining the club.

“We will try to do what we did last season – to win every trophy. And then next year, we will have the chance to play in the Champions League. We will take it step by step and for me, it’s important now to continue with what we started.”

The winger also added that he hopes to maintain a trophy-winning mentality ahead of his maiden season in Qatar.

“I hope I can be part of the winning team this season also inshaAllah. We will try and win maximum games and bring trophies to the club, and also try and prepare for the big tournament – the Champions League.”
