Without an official, properly registered digital address, no one should be able to access any of the services the state offers; from acquiring a passport, to a drivers licence, to the opening of Bank accounts, and application for jobs from state companies, permits and licenses. This is according to an order from the office of the Chief of Staff, office of the President, Hon Frema Osei-Opare.

In a memo addressed to heads of all states agencies intercepted by MYNEWSGH.com, the Chief of staff underscored the need to harmonize all our their activities to make it more responsive in service delivery.

She also ordered that all letter heads, business cards, invitation to programs, and all representations on bill boards, radio, TV and online must reflect the digital address of the named location.

The Chief of Staff also indicated that the Ghana Post is working to provide the over 3 million customers of ECG with digital addresses to help service delivery.

The Ghana Post GPS is Ghana’s official digital property addressing system which covers every part of the country, and ensures that all locations in the country are addressed. It gives a unique digital address to every point in the country.

It is based on the US government’s Global Positioning System (GPS).

The GPS is a global navigation satellite system that provides geo-location and time information to GPS receivers in every part of the world, as long as there is an obstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.
