As the Northern Regional NPP elcection came off today, there comes suprises and shocks.
In a heat contest in the Chairmanship race between incumbent Chairman Daniel Bugri Naabu and Mohammed A. Bantima Samba, Mr. Bugri pulled 116 votes out of the 553 votes cast representing 20.9% while Mr. Bantima won the election with 312 votes representing 56.4% of the total votes.
Other contestants include Alhaji Abdallah Hindu who had 25 votes, Amadu Inusah known as Dagomba Boy pulled 99 votes and Alhaji Mugis Sibawey had no votes.
In other contest, Hajia Safia Mohammed won the Women Organiser with 126 votes, Mohammed A. Ghana won the Youth Organizer race with 270 votes, Alhaji Rashid won the Organisers race, Lawyer Sule Sambian won the Secretary,Mr. Haruna Iddrisu won the Assistant Secretary race, Alhaji Iddrissu Sunday is the first vice Chairman elect while Felicai Tetteh won the Second vice chair position and Mr. Sibdo emerge the winner as the treasurer.
